If you do not have an account

Nothing that identifies you leaves your browser. Your answers, your score and the record of which questions you have seen are stored locally on your device. We do not set advertising cookies and we do not track you across sites. (We do count anonymous page visits on our own servers — see anonymous usage analytics below.)

Two exceptions, both of which only happen when you actively do something:

Writing and speaking responses are sent to our server to be graded, and on to our AI grading provider. They are not stored — they are graded and discarded.
Audio recordings are streamed to a speech-to-text provider to produce a transcript, then discarded. We never store audio.

If you create an account

We store your email address, and for each test you complete: your score and subscores, which questions you were served, and your writing and speaking responses together with the feedback on them. Responses are kept so you can revisit your feedback later.

We do not store audio at any point, with or without an account.

Your activity, when you are signed in (from 26 October 2026). While you are signed in, the usage events described below are linked to your account, so we can see how each student uses the practice: which pages and tests you open, what you click, how far you get, and which tools and quizzes you use. We use this to improve the tests and to send you relevant emails. It is never sold or shared. Signed out, nothing is linked to you.

Your answers in onboarding and feedback. Your target score, test date, why you are taking the test, the country you first signed in from, and anything you tell us in the feedback pop-up are stored with your account.

Emails. If you have an account, we may email you your results, reminders about your next test or test date, and occasional news. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops all of them.

Anonymous usage analytics

To learn which pages help and where people give up, we record anonymous usage events on our own servers. We do not use Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics service. For each page we record its address, the site that sent you (for example a search engine), your country (worked out from your connection, country only), whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer, how long the page was open and how far you scrolled, which buttons you clicked, and how far you got through a practice test.

No cookies. A random visit code is kept in your browser tab for the length of the visit and disappears when you close it.
New or returning. Your browser keeps the date of your first visit and a count of your visits in its own local storage. We receive only whether a visit is your first, roughly how long ago your first visit was (same day, within a week, within a month, or longer) and roughly how many visits you have made. Nothing we receive can link one visit to another. When you start a practice test, we also note how many tests your browser or account had finished before, and whether you are retaking a test you already finished, as numbers only.
No IP addresses stored. To count unique visitors, our server combines your connection details with a secret that changes every day and keeps only the resulting one-way code. It cannot identify you and cannot link your visits from one day to the next.
Never collected: your name, email address, answers, recordings or anything you type. If you are signed in, events are linked to your account (see above).

To switch it off on a device, open any page with ?notrack=1 at the end of the address (for example detmocktests.com/?notrack=1); ?notrack=0 switches it back on.

Who else sees it

Supabase — database, authentication, and storage for the anonymous analytics above.
Anthropic — grades writing and speaking responses.
Deepgram — converts speech to text.
Vercel — hosting, including its cookieless page-view counter.

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with anyone else.

Official score reports

If you tell us your real Duolingo English Test score, we store that number alongside the score our engine gave you, to calibrate the engine. That record holds no name, no email and no identifier — the pair of numbers is the entire payload.
