What we store, why, and how to get rid of it.

- You can practise without an account at all
- Your attempts are scoped to you and nobody else

If you do not have an account
Nothing about you leaves your browser. Your answers, your score and the record of which questions you have seen are stored locally on your device. We do not set advertising cookies and we do not track you across sites.
Two exceptions, both of which only happen when you actively do something:
- Writing and speaking responses are sent to our server to be graded, and on to our AI grading provider. They are not stored — they are graded and discarded.
- Audio recordings are streamed to a speech-to-text provider to produce a transcript, then discarded. We never store audio.
If you create an account
We store your email address, and for each test you complete: your score and subscores, which questions you were served, and your writing and speaking responses together with the feedback on them. Responses are kept so you can revisit your feedback later.
We do not store audio at any point, with or without an account.
Who else sees it
- Supabase — database and authentication.
- Anthropic — grades writing and speaking responses.
- Deepgram — converts speech to text.
- Vercel — hosting.
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with anyone else.
Official score reports
If you tell us your real Duolingo English Test score, we store that number alongside the score our engine gave you, to calibrate the engine. That record holds no name, no email and no identifier — the pair of numbers is the entire payload.
Deleting everything
Email hello@detmocktests.com from your account address. Everything attached to the account is deleted, including your responses.
