Mock test 2 of 7

DET Mock Test 2

A completely separate set of questions. Nothing in this test appears in test 1 or test 3, so a second sitting measures you again rather than measuring what you remember.

  • About an hour, eight sections, run in the real order
  • All 13 question types — nothing here appears in the other six tests
  • Eight subscores and per-answer feedback the moment you finish

Mock Test 2 is a full sitting, not a sample. It opens with a short start screen — no camera, no permission prompts — then runs the eight sections in the order Duolingo runs them and ends with a scored report. Budget an uninterrupted hour, and have a microphone ready for the speaking section, where your browser asks for it.

Free for a limited time. No card, and no account needed to take it or to see your score.

Inside this test

What Mock Test 2 is built from

Eight sections, in the order you will meet them on the day. Everything in the right-hand column belongs to Mock Test 2 alone — none of it appears in the other six tests — and where a section draws from a pool, the engine picks what suits the level you are working at, so two people taking this test will not meet exactly the same items, or even the same number of them.

When to take Mock Test 2

Take it after two or three weeks of work on what your first mock found. It shares no questions with the others, so a higher score here is progress rather than memory — and a flat one tells you to change what you are practising, not just to do more of it.

That order is a suggestion, not a requirement: the seven tests are equated — a score means the same on each — so any of them can come first. What matters is leaving enough work between sittings for the next score to mean something.

Before and after

Bring an unaided hour and finish every task. You leave with a predicted overall and all eight subscores — see the sample report — and the mock tests page covers getting a number worth trusting. The official test costs $70 USD; find your weak spots before you pay for it.
