DET Mock Test 7
The seventh disjoint set, from a third question bank written to the same difficulty profile. None of its passages, dictations, conversations, photos or prompts appears in any other mock test or section test.
- About an hour, eight sections, run in the real order
- All 13 question types — nothing here appears in the other six tests
- Eight subscores and per-answer feedback the moment you finish
Mock Test 7 is a full sitting, not a sample. It opens with a short start screen — no camera, no permission prompts — then runs the eight sections in the order Duolingo runs them and ends with a scored report. Budget an uninterrupted hour, and have a microphone ready for the speaking section, where your browser asks for it.
Free for a limited time. No card, and no account needed to take it or to see your score.
What Mock Test 7 is built from
Eight sections, in the order you will meet them on the day. Everything in the right-hand column belongs to Mock Test 7 alone — none of it appears in the other six tests — and where a section draws from a pool, the engine picks what suits the level you are working at, so two people taking this test will not meet exactly the same items, or even the same number of them.
| Section | Task types | In Mock Test 7 |
|---|---|---|
| 1 · Read & Select | Read & Select | 15–18 of its 67 real and invented words, 5 seconds each |
| 2 · Fill in the Blanks | Fill in the Blanks | 6–9 of its 21 sentences |
| 3 · Mixed Language Skills | Listen & Type, Read & Complete | 9–15 items in 24 minutes, from its 19 passages and 29 audio clips |
| 4 · Interactive Reading | Interactive Reading | Two of: A radio show run by students; How octopuses change colour; Lighthouses without keepers; What tree rings record — five steps each |
| 5 · Interactive Listening | Interactive Listening | Two of these conversations: You take your bicycle to a repair shop because of a flat tyre and a weak brake. You go to the university IT help desk because you cannot log in to the online learning system. You ask a classmate to share her lecture notes after you missed a week through illness. You visit the Student Hub to get a certificate that proves you do not have to pay council tax. You meet the accommodation officer to ask to move out of a noisy hall of residence. You meet the Student Union funding officer about a grant for your society’s exhibition. |
| 6 · Writing | Write About the Photo, Writing Sample | Four written responses, two of them about photographs from this test’s three: A woman with short dark hair in a green long-sleeved top and a dark blue apron cooking at a busy street food stall in the evening; steam rises as she turns food in a metal tray; The inside of a long passenger train carriage; Two men in light blue T-shirts standing next to a wheelbarrow in a community vegetable garden |
| 7 · Speaking | Speak About the Photo, Interactive Speaking | The remaining photograph, described aloud, then a spoken conversation |
| 8 · Writing & Speaking Sample | Writing Sample, Speaking Sample | 8 minutes on open prompts |
When to take Mock Test 7
Use it as an extra sitting whenever you want one more measurement before test day. It shares no questions with the other tests, so its score is as informative as your first.
That order is a suggestion, not a requirement: the seven tests are equated — a score means the same on each — so any of them can come first. What matters is leaving enough work between sittings for the next score to mean something.
What to bring, and what you get
Bring an unaided hour and finish every task. You leave with a predicted overall and all eight subscores — see the sample report — and the mock tests page covers getting a number worth trusting. The official test costs $70 USD; find your weak spots before you pay for it.
